= Ardingly Climate Action =
In the light of the climate crisis, a group of residents and representatives of schools and local businesses first met up in late 2019 to discuss ways to:
- reduce our carbon footprint,
- enable the village to become more resilient and sustainable,
- create a safe future for our children, grandchildren and the natural environment.
We are focussing initially on three areas where we will aim to post information:
- repair, reuse, recycle
- action on biodiversity
- links with parish council, schools and neighbouring groups
If you would like to join the group or have any comments, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or get in touch via the parish clerk.
In this first posting (See link below), we have produced a comprehensive list of repair, reuse and recycling sites that may be useful to you. Due to the Covid crisis, some of these may not be open at the moment, so do please check with the operator.
In future postings, we will explain how you can become involved in improving the biodiversity of the village and surrounding countryside.
We have approached the parish council and have two councillors on the action group. The council adopted the following resolution at its meeting on 4th Feb 2020:
‘Ardingly Parish Council recognises that climate change is a real and pressing issue and will work with the residents’ Climate Action Group to raise awareness in the community and consider actions to be taken.’
